Dr Leo Nicolai (Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich) was awarded the Bayer Thrombosis Research Award 2023 for demonstrating that organ involvement and prothrombotic features in COVID-19 are linked by immune-thrombosis. The award goes to researchers in the early stages of their careers.
