Awards and Grants

Dr Kai-Uwe Jarr (Heidelberg University Hospital) has been awarded funding of 1 million euros over five years by the Corona Foundation for a junior research group to investigate new therapeutic approaches in cardiovascular immunotherapy.

Dr Eros Elias Rawish und Jakob Voran (both University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein) receive the Precision Health in Schleswig-Holstein (PHSH) Shared Campus Award 2024 for their project ‘Harnessing Multiomics Analyses to Uncover Novel Therapeutic Targets in Calcific Aortic Valve Disease.’

Prof. Dr Norbert Frey (Heidelberg University Hospital) has been the new site spokesperson in Heidelberg/Mannheim since 1st of July 2024. Prof. Dr Johannes Backs (Heidelberg University Hospital) takes on the role of co-spokesperson together with Prof. Dr Jörg Heineke (University Hospital Mannheim).

Dr Gabriele Schiattarella (Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC) and MDC, Berlin) receives the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).

Dr Malte Tiburcy (University Medical Center Göttingen) receives the Habilitation Prize of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the Medical Faculty of the Georgia Augusta Göttingen e.V., WS 2023/24, for "Human muscle tissue for translational pharmacology".

Dr Moritz von Scheidt (German Heart Center Munich) has been awarded the HORIZON Grant entitled "Leading Innovation in Cardiovascular Pathways for Improved Patient Outcomes", with a total funding of EUR 525,000.

Dr Julian Leberzammer (University Hospital and CPI, Frankfurt) receives the Dr Hildegard and Heinrich Fuchs Doctoral Prize for the best "summa cum laude" thesis.

Dr Gabriele Schiattarella (Deutsche Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC) und MDC, Berlin) was honoured with the Outstanding Investigator Award at the meeting of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) in Perth, Australia.

Carolin Gragoll (University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein) was honoured with the Trainee Award at the international Complement Therapeutics Conference in Loutraki, Greece.

Prof. Dr Georg Daniel Dürr (University Medical Center Mainz) receives this year's Robert Müller Foundation Science Award.
